Mini excavators

Mini excavators are small tracked digging machines with a rotating upper structure and a boom, arm and bucket. They are used for trenching for utilities, digging footings, landscaping, demolition of small structures and work in tight spaces such as backyards, building interiors and urban job sites. Many models have a short or zero tail swing so the upper structure stays within or close to the track width when it turns.

When comparing mini excavators, start with operating weight, since it decides the trailer and towing setup needed. Then look at overall width (for gates and doorways), transport height, track gauge and track length. Digging depth, reach and dump height show the working envelope. Engine power, hydraulic pump flow and auxiliary flow matter if you plan to run attachments such as breakers or augers.
