Dozers

Dozers, or crawler tractors, are tracked machines with a front blade, used for pushing material, rough and finish grading, clearing land, building pads and roads, spreading fill and, with a rear ripper, breaking up hard ground. Small dozers handle residential grading, while the largest models work in mines and large earthmoving projects.

Key comparison specs are operating weight and engine power, which together describe pushing capability. Blade width and blade capacity show how much material it moves per pass. Track gauge, track length on ground, shoe width and ground pressure describe stability and how well it works on soft ground. Overall width, height and shipping weight matter for transport. Note whether figures are given with a specific blade type or ripper fitted.

Across the 55 models listed here, operating weight ranges from about 7,226 to 115,300 kg (15,931 to 254,193 lb). Brands covered: Case, Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, Liebherr.
